Story behind The Seaside Chapel:

Growing up in rural Georgia, I lived near my grandmother. It was her idea that we call her Miss Cora. Shelling peas sitting on the porch, Miss Cora would keep our fingers working with tales of the depression when a poor man accepted his fate, when times were ripe for hardship, especially on farms where the soil was depleted. Here she described a trip she took to Savannah, going on and on about a seaside church that seemed to reach out from the ocean and pull her in. I tried to capture this memory on canvas.
